How to install CU7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

CU7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 is now available! We’ve recently blogged about its new features and the resources that are available to help you learn more about it. (In case you missed those blog posts, click here and here.) But today I want to focus on one thing, and it’s kind of important: how to install it.
There are two ways to install CU7. The method that you should use boils down to how you answer this question:
Is Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 already installed in your environment?

Yes, AX 2012 R2 is already installed

If AX 2012 R2 is already installed, use the Update Wizard and complete the update process to apply CU7. The process looks like this:
  1. Get ready for CU7:
    1. Review the release documentation.
    2. Download the files.
  2. Apply CU7 as an update:
    1. Prepare for the update.
    2. Install and analyze updates.
    3. Restart the AOS and IIS.
    4. Reinitialize the model store.
    5. Complete the software update checklist.
    6. Update other Microsoft Dynamics AX components.
    7. Validate the update and roll it out to the production environment.
  3. Install the Data Import/Export Framework.
For all the details, see the CU7 Installation Guide. If you receive any compiler errors during the process, be sure to check out this blog post.

No, AX 2012 R2 is not installed

If you’re installing Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 for the first time, use the Setup Wizard and the slipstreaming process to install CU7 together with the rest of the product. When updates are slipstreamed, the Setup Wizard automatically detects them and applies them. The process looks like this:
  1. Get ready for CU7:
    1. Review the release documentation.
    2. Download the files.
  2. Install AX 2012 R2 + CU7:
    1. Create a shared network location from which to install Microsoft Dynamics AX.
    2. Copy the contents of the Microsoft Dynamics AX DVD to the shared network location.
    3. In the Updates folder of the Microsoft Dynamics AX DVD, create a folder for CU7 and extract the CU7 installation files into it.
    4. Run the Setup Wizard as you would for any new installation.
  3. Install the Data Import/Export Framework from the update installer.
For all the details, see the CU7 Installation Guide.

Dynamics Axapta: Sales Orders & Business Connector

Well, again folllowing my same idea of writting close to nothing and pasting code, I'll paste in some code to create a sales order from some basic data and the invoice it. I'll try to explain more in the future. AxaptaObject axSalesTable = ax.CreateAxaptaObject("AxSalesTable"); AxaptaRecord rcInventDim = ax.CreateAxaptaRecord("InventDim"); AxaptaRecord rcCustTable = ax.CreateAxaptaRecord("CustTable"); rcCustTable.ExecuteStmt("select * from %1 where %1.AccountNum == '" + MySalesOrderObject.CustAccount + "'"); if (MySalesOrderObject.CurrencyCode.Trim().Length == 0) MySalesOrderObject.CurrencyCode = rcCustTable.get_Field("Currency").ToString().Trim(); string sTaxGroup = rcCustTable.get_Field("taxgroup").ToString().Trim(); //set header level fields axSalesTable.Call("parmSalesName", MySalesOrderObject.SalesName.Trim()); axSalesTable.Call("parmCustAccount", M

Passing values between form and class

Class name is EmplDuplication and Form is EmplTable . void clicked() {    MenuFunction mf;    args args = new Args();    ;     args.record(EmplTable);     mf = new menufunction(identifierstr(EmplDuplication), MenuItemType::Action); mf.run(args); } Meanwhile, in the main() method of the EmplDuplication class, we need to put this Axapta x++ code to get the datasource: static void main(Args args) {     EmplDuplication EmplDuplication; EmplTable localEmplTable; ;     if(args.record().TableId == tablenum(EmplTable)) localEmplTable = args.record();     ... }
